Infants   Babies, Crawlers, and Wobblers 

5 months - 21 months 

We emphasize building trust as the foundation for growth and learning. Our safe, healthy, and enriched environments are ready for curious exploration and creative play.

  • We provide loving care, responsive interaction, and individual respect to each child with the purpose of building trust and security, thereby establishing a strong foundation.
  • Each child is assigned a primary care teacher.
  • Children are grouped with peers: Babies, Crawlers, Wobblers
  • Specially designed spaces and curriculum for each stage of development.
  • Baby Signs™ and Learning Games™ are core activities which support developmental milestones and provide early pre-speech communication.
  • Daily learning activities include books, art, music, manipulative toys, and outdoor time.
  • Written daily reports are provided and parents may call or visit at any time.
  • Staff to child ratio is 1:4, with additional staff assistance, as needed.

 

Toddlers

22 months - 28 + months

We provide for free exploration and more structured learning, with small classes and positive teachers.

  • Daily learning activities include story time, art, puzzles, manipulatives, blocks, dramatic play, and ample outdoor play.
  • We encourage curiosity, creativity, and assist each child with peer interactions.
  • Beginning self-help skills and potty training encourage development of positive self-esteem.
  • Baby Signs™ and Learning Games™ are integrated into curriculum.
  • Written daily reports are provided and parents may call or visit at any time.
  • Staff to child ratio is 1: 5.

 

Preschool Classrooms 2 yr , 3 yr, and 4-5yr Pre-Kindergarten

2 yrs 4 months – 5 years 9 mos

We offer energetic and educational programs designed to prepare children with the skills and attitudes necessary for kindergarten success. Our goals are to nourish each child’s creativity, build self-esteem, promote positive social interaction, and to impart a love for reading and learning.

  • Daily activities are developmentally appropriate and include: circle time, art, science, math, (pre)writing, reading, blocks, and dramatic play. The pre-kindergarten has cooking and computers. Outdoor spaces: garden, park-quality playstructure, trycicle courtyard, reading nook. Indoor and outdoor learning centers for free exploration exist, for free choice periods.
  • The HighScope Curriculum emphasizes adult-child interaction, a carefully designed learning environment, and a plan-do-review process that strengthens initiative and self-reliance. Teachers and students are active partners in shaping the educational experience. We plan and post weekly and/or monthly curriculum, based on the HighScope Curriculum™ guidelines: parents can follow along and reinforce lessons with children at home.
  • Children participate in our weekly Spanish immersion, music and gymnastics classes.
  • Learning Games™ are used as an integrated assessment tool of child development.
  • Teacher-Parent Conferences are conducted twice a year.
  • Our excellent teacher to child ratios are 1: 7 in the 2.5 year-old class, 1:8 in the 3 year-old class, and 1:10 in PreKindergarten.
